New Delhi — Renowned Tibetan calligrapher Jamyang Dorjee is showcasing his exquisite calligraphy at the Tibet Festival, “Spirit of Tibet: Celebrating Culture and Compassion.” Organized by the Department of Information and International Relations of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) in collaboration with USAID, Tibet Fund, and the Foundation for Non-Violent Alternatives (FNVA), the festival is being held at the India International Centre in New Delhi from September 3, 2024.
The event highlights Tibetan culture, heritage, and compassion, featuring a range of cultural performances, exhibitions, and discussions. Jamyang Dorjee expressed his joy in reconnecting with old friends and interacting with the public while presenting his art.
“This festival is a beautiful celebration of Tibetan culture and values, and I feel honored to contribute through my calligraphy,” Dorjee said.
The festival also provided a platform for young Tibetan artists to connect with seasoned practitioners. Hon’ble Sikyong Penpa Tsering la, the President of the CTA, graciously spent time with Jamyang Dorjee and the young artists, encouraging their creative pursuits.
With two more days left, the festival continues to welcome visitors from all walks of life, offering a unique opportunity to immerse in Tibetan culture and its message of compassion.
