Salugara, West Bengal-Himalayan Buddhist Cultural School, a beacon of cultural integration and educational excellence, marked its 26th anniversary with a vibrant celebration yesterday. The event was graced by chief guest Jamyang Dorjee, who lauded the institution’s unwavering commitment to preserving Tibetan culture while fostering academic growth among its diverse student body.

Established in 1996 during the Kalachakra initiation by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, the school is situated at Kalachakra Phodrang in Salugara. Over the years, it has blossomed into a nurturing ground for over 350 students, predominantly from Bengali indigenous communities, alongside a number of Nepalese pupils. The institution’s mission is to blend cultural education with academic rigor, creating a holistic learning environment.

Performances included the dynamic Senghe (Snow Lion Dance), various traditional Tibetan folk dances, and the intricate Tashi Sholpa.
